Elf Flawless Finish Foundation SPF 15 Oil Free Review

Posted by Rica at 12:04 PM 0 comments
I've been using this liquid foundation from Elf this week and honestly speaking, this is one heavy duty liquid foundation for my skin type! By the way, I have an oily-combination skin. I tend to be a bit dry during the winter on my cheeks and very oily on the T-Zone whole year long!

First things first, here are some photos for you guys! :)

It comes with a pump dispenser.

The pump is easy to control so no product is wasted! :)

Here is the shade of Sand.

Swatch and blending ... I have no primer here.

 Blending ...

blended!!

I purchased this from a reputable Yahoo! Auction Hong Kong Seller  for HKD $60 in Sand. It is a perfect match for my NC25/NW25 skintone and I've been loving it each day!

I've been testing this with different kinds of primers each day of the week and no matter what primer I was using, it is long wearing. I know I've been raving too much about this foundation, and it is because it is cheap and has a good quality. What more should I ask for? :)

I've been wearing it for 5-8 hours straight and of course with my oily skin, I have to blot it with my Elf Studio Pressed Powder. It doesn't cake up and stands the heat and sweat here in Hong Kong.

Here are some differences with the different primers I have been using:

1. With Laneige Makeup Primer Sebum Control: Kept my makeup in place and less blotting.

2. With Elf Studio Mineral Infused Primer: No blotting at all! Very light and seems like I'm not wearing any makeup at all. :)

3. With Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream as a primer / base: It diminished my red skin blotches and my skin looks more even together with this foundation. And long wearing as well with a radiant dewy finish!

4. With Juju Aquamoist Base: Very moisturizing yet not sticky. This feels I am wearing makeup but doesn't cake up. Long wearing as well and makeup stays in place for the whole day.

In conclusion, I am enjoying this and ....

DEFINITELY REPURCHASING THIS! :)

Thank you for reading and please share your insights if you have used this foundation before. I would love to hear from you guys!

Loves,

Rica

RMK - Creamy Foundation in 102

Posted by Rica at 10:22 PM 0 comments

Of all expensive liquid / cream foundation I've ever tried, this one from RMK is the WORST. I thought that it's going to be the best substitute for my Cle De Peau Cream Foundation since it's too expensive but unfortunately, it's not.

I got this a month ago from Facess, Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui for HKD 340, 30g.

I tried to make myself fall in love with this cream foundation from RMK but unfortunately, I really can't... First, I got the wrong color. Second, the texture is not smooth to my skin. Third, it's hard to contour and spread all over my face using my MAC 190 brush. And fourth, my face gets oily that fast. And even though I retouch from time to time, it is still as oily as it is once it starts to get oily.

I don't like this cream foundation from RMK at all, I hope I can find a good home for this because it's too expensive! Not a good buy.. Uh-Oh!!!!

MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 in NC30

Posted by Rica at 10:12 PM 0 comments

I got this as a freebie from my latest MAC purchase. I purchased my latest MAC purchase from MAC Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui. My friends here in Hong Kong said that MAC doesn't give any samplers but hey, I got a lot on that day!

Anyway, I got this in a very small tube which can be used for around 4-5 times.

There's no doubt about it, MAC's foundation has good coverages. It covers my scars very well and that's what I love about it the most. But there are some cons from this liquid foundation which gives me a reason not to buy it.

First, it's not that long staying. When I put it on, after around 3 hours, I need to retouch already. It also has the tendency to be cakey and it's very oily to be used on a hot and warm day.

Good thing I got this only as a sampler. I really appreciate samplers since it prevents you from buying wrong products for your skin. Meaning, it saves you a lot of money searching for your holy grail products.

Lavshuca - Creamy Liquid Foundation in BE-1

Posted by Rica at 12:57 PM 0 comments

I got this Liquid Foundation from Lavshuca over the Watson's Personal Store in Causeway Bay for HKD 112. As you have known, not all Watson's Personal Stores over Hong Kong carries the Lavshuca line from Kanebo. Kanebo has a lot of product lines and this one is one of my favorites (some of their products works for me.. some doesn't) and not to mention they are very affordable.

This liquid foundation from Lavshuca comes in a very cute maroon tube. It's very princessy, and very Lavshuca. All of Lavshuca products comes in a very cute and princessy packaging. I read a lot of reviews over the net about Lavshuca products and most of them bought it because they find the packaging cute. LOL.

Anyway, this product from Lavshuca doesn't work for me. I like the texture of the product. It is creamy like, not watery at all. I don't like to put anything watery over my face since it is very hard to control. Anyway, this doesn't work for me. Why? Well, I find it cakey and sticky even with the loose powder on. I have a very oily and pimple-prone face so I don't like anything that doesn't have oil control. Also, I think this is not good to use during summer time because the coverage is thick. Yes, it has a very good coverage too. You won't even imagine that this is just a drugstore brand.

Well, another boo-hoo from Lavshuca for me! :(

Cle De Peau - Cream Foundation in O20

Posted by Rica at 5:03 PM 0 comments

Presenting to you guys, my HG cream foundation! I love, love, love this cream foundation from Cle De Peau... One thing that I don't like about this foundation is that IT IS EXPENSIVE... Besides that, it's perfect... The foundation has this good scent and I can't even believe that I'm putting on a foundation everytime!
I need a foundation that gives me a full coverage since I have a lot of scars on my face and is long lasting when put on.. I am a lazy girl that hates retouching everytime, that's why that's an essential for my foundation.
Also, I prefer cream instead of liquid because cream is easier to control for me. I used to use the CoverGirl Clean Makeup Liquid Foundation and it is very hard to control where as for the creams, you just need to put a small dots on your face and spread it all over, you're done with it!
I am an O20 for this Cle De Peau Cream Foundation. Take note, I am NC30 for MAC. :)
What else I can say about this cream foundation from Cle De Peau? Well... It comes in an elegant packaging and I love it! Credits to Rochelle (my little sister) for purchasing it for me!
By the way, it can be purchased for HKD 800+ (as far as I can remember...) per 20 mL here in Hong Kong.

Estee Lauder - Liquid Foundation Double Wear Light Stay-In-Place Makeup SPF 10 in Light-Medium

Posted by Rica at 9:50 PM 0 comments

My sister bought me this liquid foundation as a christmas gift last christmas. We bought this over Seibu counter in Langham Place, Mongkok for errr... Sorry, I forgot already how much it is. The lady from Estee Lauder suggested the shade light-medium for me for my NC30 / NC35 skin color. She bought this together with the powder foundation and the freebie that we got from all our Estee Lauder purchases. It was my first time to buy something from Estee Lauder! In fact, I really know nothing about makeups until that day. My sister taught me how to apply liquid foundation and the proper step by step ways to put on your everyday make up. (Thanks sis! :) )

Anyway, I chose this because I need something that has a good coverage but stays for a very long time. And this was it. The coverage is good but the staying power? Hmmm.. So far, it's ok.. It doesn't hold that much for me but not that bad as well. So far it's ok and besides, this is Estee Lauder! With Estee Lauder, I could never go wrong! :)

Estee Lauder - Cyber White Ex Extra Brightening Gel Creme Makeup

Posted by Rica at 11:22 PM 0 comments

This is the second liquid foundation that I've tried from Estee Lauder. It's ok for my opinion. It's recommended for those person who has scars (like me) all over your face and is wishing that all those scars would go away.

It's okay and so far, good coverage, non-sticky and not easy to get oily. I also noticed that after putting this a few times onto my face, my scars are a bit light in color and I don't need to put a lot of concealer to conceal my skin imperfections.

One thing that I don't like from this liquid foundation is that whenever you retouch, it has the intention of getting cakey. So far, it's good. Not sure if I'm going to repurchase this since I think this is the only liquid foundation that I've ever seen that has a "whitening" action.

Cover Girl - Clean Make up in Natural Ivory

Posted by Rica at 12:45 AM 0 comments

I used to love this liquid foundation from Cover Girl. As you have known, Cover Girl cosmetics are not available here in Hong Kong. I have to order them straight from USA if I really, really wanted to buy Cover Girl stuffs, or, I have to ask my sister to buy it for me there.

Lately, I found some Cover Girl stuffs at Bonjour (another cosmetic store like Sasa here in Hong Kong) so I grabbed 3 bottles of these Cover Girl Clean Make Up. It's in my shade, which is in Natural Ivory.

I really don't know what happened. I used to like this liquid foundation before, but when I tried using it once more, I didn't like it. It was too watery and very hard to apply to my face. It's very hard to even out.

Also, the coverage wasn't good. I still need to use a lot of concealer (my MAC Select Cover-Up) to have the flawless skin look.

Also, it doesn't stay that long. You have to retouch from time to time because it does wears off very fast.

One more minus points for this is the unsanitized bottle that Cover Girl used for this liquid foundation. It's very messy and I need to clean up the mouth of the bottle from time to time or else, it gets stuck up right there on top.

Honestly, I really don't like it now. I'm just finishing these stocks I've got at home right now, and I'm done. I don't want to buy this product from Cover Girl anymore.

Naris Up Wink Up Maxigrade Eyeliner in Black and PLUS PLUS PLUS for today!

Posted by Rica at 4:07 PM 0 comments

I bought this as a finishing for my "smoky-eye" look with just using gel eye liners. I use this as a finishing to the tips that the brush of my gel liner cannot reach. I bought this over Sasa Cosmetics for HKD 60? I think? I don't really remember how much I got it...

All in all, it was ok, but I think there's a lot more better ones out there in the market today...

Anyway, I got my sister's package today and finally, I got my HG Foundation! My Cle De Peau Cream Foundation! Yay! My sister bought it in USA and it's perfect! It is sold for HKD 800+ here in Hong Kong. Quite expensive, I know, for a foundation. Argh! So.. I better stock up when my sister goes on a vacation here this coming summer! (I hope so!)

Also, my sister gave me some hand-me-down stuffs today. A powder foundation from Body Shop, and some lip liners from Pierre Cardin!

Wow! Not bad for today!
