MAC - Lipstick - Politely Pink

Posted by Rica at 4:09 PM 0 comments

Deceived by its name, Politely Pink is nowhere from its name. Politely Pink is more on the shade of nude / tan / brown. It is on the Lustre Team of MAC lipsticks. I love the way it is "mute" when it is applied onto my lips, making my makeup looking light and natural.

I paired it with my new blush as well this morning from MAC named "Notable" which is very strong when applied on your cheeks. They both looks perfect.

By the way, Politely Pink is a part of MAC's Permanent Lipstick Collection.

Anyway, here's the swatch for MAC Politely Pink:

MAC - In The Groove Lipsticks - Jazzed and I Like It Like That

Posted by Rica at 4:00 PM 0 comments

My boyfriend got me these two lipsticks from MAC. It is included with MAC's incoming collection named "In The Groove" which is going to be released here in Hong Kong probably around late July or early August.

Anyway, he got me these two lipsticks which are "Jazzed" and "I Like It Like That"

"Jazzed" is on the peachy / coral side while "I Like It Like That" is more on the pink side. They are both on the Cremesheen team of MAC lipsticks and I love how smooth and creamy these lipsticks are. They are very moisturizing when applied onto your lips and it lasts for around 2-3 hours before it melts to your lips.

Anyway, here are the swatches.

P.S.

I'm sorry if I don't update my blog lately. I'm very much busy / lazy and not to mention I don't have anything to blog at the moment! Anyway, I will keep on blogging, don't worry! :)

Much Love,

Benefit - Eyecon - Brightening Eye Cream

Posted by Rica at 10:08 PM 0 comments

I must say, I'm in love with this eye cream from Benefit! Opposite from most of the bad reviews on the internet, I really find it good on me. Actually, it works for my skin. I didn't get any bad reactions when I first used it, and I'm using it for a month now. It is very creamy when applied to the eye area, not to mention its very good vanilla-like smell. I love its texture, and it prevents my skin from tightening and getting dry.

It takes longer time also to finish because I've been using it for a month now and I've emptied not even a half by now. Meaning, a jar can be consumed for 2-3 months span. Wow! That's quite a long time!

The only downside of this product is that it claims that it brightens dark eye circles, but then, actually it doesn, but very, very less results. But, when I use Laneige's Eye Designer Cream after this, the results are awesome! It brightens my eye area and it makes my eye area more refreshed and looking younger.

I would definitely repurchase this product again from Benefit!

MAC - Liberty of London Lipsticks ( FINALLY!!! )

Posted by Rica at 11:28 PM 0 comments
( L - R ) : Blooming Lovely , Peachstock , Ever Hip , Petals and Peacocks

Finally... I got to complete my MAC Liberty of London Lipstick Fetish collection! YAY! If you're going to ask me what's my favorite?! I would definitely answer ... Er ... Peachstock. I know this is a part of the permanent line but what can I do?! This suits my NC30 / NC35 skin tone very well. At first, my favorite was Ever Hip, but when I tried it on, it doesn't show that good enough into my skin tone. Unlike Peachstock, it looks pretty and suitable for my skin tone. Anyway, here's the swatches. Enjoy!

P.S.

I wasn't able to purchase them over here in Hong Kong's local MAC store. I have to track them down all over the world where to get them via MakeUpAlley and Yahoo! Auctions, just to get these pairs. Thank you MakeUpAlley!

Anyway, here are the swatches:

Estee Lauder - Cyber White Ex Extra Brightening Moisture Lotion

Posted by Rica at 8:51 PM 0 comments

One reason why I bought this product from Estee Lauder is that I am in love with Estee Lauder's Cyber White Ex Extra Brightening Collection. They are exclusively released only here in Asia and is perfectly fit for Asian skins. Anyway, I love their products from this line (the ones that I already tried) and so, I gave this one a try. I already tried one toning lotion from Estee Lauder and it is quite ok for my own opinion. This Estee Lauder Cyber White Ex Extra Brightening Moisture Lotion quite disappointed me because it did not really react to my skin at all. First of all, it claims that it can make your dark spots whiter than it used to be, making your skin an even shade, the longer time you use it. But unfortunately, it is not applicable for my skin. I've been using this for quite some time now, but still, it is still not reacting to my skin. I'm not sure if it is one of the cause of my breakouts right now (pimples and acnes) but, I am currently having one now (and my period is no where near from now).

Also, the toning lotion itself, does not react to my skin, not unlike Estee Lauder's Perfectly Clean Toning Lotion which gives me a minty reaction once applied to my skin. It really does nothing at all for me, just cleaning, making sure that I already rinsed off all of my make-ups for today. That's just about it.

Obviously, I'm not going to repurchase it, will still continue with my HG Toning Lotion search...

*** Estee Lauder Cyber White Ex Extra Brightening Moisture Lotion can be purchased at your local stores for HKD 340 per 200 mL ***

MAC - Pret-a-Papier Collection : To Be Released Tomorrow ( May 07, 2010 ) in Hong Kong!

Posted by Rica at 8:50 PM 0 comments

I am very much thrilled and at the same time excited with MAC's upcoming collection that is going to be released tomorrow which is the Pret-a-Papier. I heard a lot of bad reviews about the products that is from that collection, but who cares?! Anything that is coral in color, suits me well! As you can see from the promotional photo of Pret-a-Papier, it has a matte-coral look. Perfect for me, that's one thing for sure. I got so excited that I bought them beforehand and I'm just missing one piece for this collection. As you have known, I'm only into lipsticks and powder blushes. Good thing! Geeez! Anyway, here are the lipsticks and the blushers from this collection:

( L-R ) Archetype, Dressmaker, Dressmaker, Made To Order, Kraft

I am missing the lipstick Dressmaker, Dressmaker. The rest, I am already waiting for it on the mail. :)

( L-R ) : Instant Chic, Garb (Both are Shimmertone)

I am going to make another review about the lipsticks and blushers that goes with this collection later on after I tried using it. But as for now, that's it! :)

Anyway, after this, the next limited collection that I've been waiting is MAC's To The Beach. It's quite a big collection so... I'd better save up!!!

MAC - 129SH - Travel Size Powder Blush Brush

Posted by Rica at 7:53 PM 0 comments

This is my current powder blush brush at the moment. I purchased the 129sh instead of the 129 since 129sh is very handy and I can just put it inside my pouch bag for retouches everytime.
I'm not sure how much this costs over the counter since I got this from Yahoo! Auction Hong Kong for HKD 120 only.

As I have observed, I'm not really awed with MAC's brushes. I know a lot of girls are in love with these brushes but for me, I think it's very cheap and easy to break or worn-off.

The size of this brush is perfect, since it can be carried inside a pouch bag, for retouches. But as usual, I'm not really impressed with MAC's handles. I think it is very slippery and hard to contour and control. Also, the hair of these brushes from MAC shreds quickly compare to my Smashbox Brushes. Smashbox brushes are a little bit more expensive from MAC's, but it is far way more durable than MAC's. Why not spend a little penny to achieve the quality that you wanted, right?

Anyway, I'm not going to repurchase these brushes from MAC anymore. ANY OF IT. I'm going to stick with my Smashbox Brush Collection even though it's quite expensive, since it's more durable and easier to control.

Benefit You Rebel Lite : A Burner...

Posted by Rica at 12:46 PM 0 comments

I got a sampler of this Benefit You Rebel Lite from Yahoo Auctions Hong Kong and tried it on since I'm also on search for a tinted moisturizer. I just applied it once and after that? Well.. I gave it to our helper.. WHY?! Don't get me wrong, their tinted moisturizer is ok. It's not oily, it's not sticky and didn't give me a break-out.. The problem is, it stings when it comes contact near your eyes. It fees like the skin around your eyes is burning from the moisturizer. As soon as I put it on, I took off the one near my eyes because it really hurts a lot... Well, so much for tinted moisturizers, I'll give a pass for this one... Up for the next brand!!!
