Give Away for January! Fringe Clip Fixer!

Posted by Rica at 7:31 PM 0 comments

I bought this fringe clip fixer from Sasa a few weeks ago. I got so curious if it works that I bought one for myself. Unfortunately, it's not for me.. Since this fringe clip fixer doesn't work for me, instead of throwing it away, I want to give it to a special reader! I know not much people really read my blog, I will be closing all the entries after a month. Just leave your name and e-mail on the comment box so that I can contact you if you're the chosen winner for this give-away! Here's one way of using this clip:

Good luck!

P.S.

I will choose the winner randomly. Thank you for reading!

Goodbye to Kate Eyeliner!

Posted by Rica at 1:58 PM 0 comments

Last month, I purchased the Kate Super Sharp Liner (eye liner) from Watson's. I find it the same as my old pen eye liner from 24h, another Japanese brand make-up that I bought from Sasa. I even love my old one better. I found a new home for my Kate Super Sharp Liner in black and it's going out tomorrow morning by post. :) In exchange, I'm going to foster a MAC Lipshine. I can't wait till all my swaps arrive in Hong Kong!

ZA Lip Aqualish

Posted by Rica at 8:19 PM 0 comments

I've been using ZA Aqualish Lipstick lately a lot. I'm not really a lip gloss girl, I'm more of an old fashioned one.. I prefer using lipsticks instead because it's not sticky and I feel much comfortable. I don't like the sticky and heavy feeling that the lip gloss gives everytime you put it onto your lips.

ZA Aqualish was quite a hit before here in Hong Kong. It can be bought either from Watson's Personal Store or from Manning's.Their diamond like lipstick and their light and sheer colors are much embraced by the asian popularity.

One thing I dislike about this lipstick is that it dries my lips. It's not moisturizing enough and it's very easy to wear off. For my whole day, I think I need to retouch my lipstick for 5 times because it wears off easily.

Can you see the sparkling glitters from the lipstick?

Here's a swatch of my ZA Aqualish in #017. By the way, I am NC35 in MAC. :)

Majolica Majorca Jewelling Pencil

Posted by Rica at 10:34 AM 0 comments

I love, love, LOVE Majolica Majorca... They're so cute and princessy not to mention they are very much affordable. They can be purchased over Watson's Personal Store for a very affordable price. My very first purchase from this brand is their mascaras and I really liked it! It's actually my HG mascara...

My latest purchase from Majolica Majorca is the Jewelling Pencil or what they called the eyeliner pencil from their brand. I bought it in black - BK999. Each pencil just costs HKD 60 over the counter.

For my opinion, it's ok, nothing bad about it, still contemplating whether I should buy a replacement to the Jewelling Pencil that I just swapped over MUA...

It's well-pigmented, and very cute. Only that it comes in a very short pencil, rather than the usual KOHL liner that we usually see... Another hands down for Majolica Majorca!

Esprique Precious Samples...

Posted by Rica at 10:38 AM 0 comments

I bought my first purchase from Esprique Precious in Seibu a few weeks ago and got these two as a freebie from my haul. I got a sampler of their skincare set which is their Live Charge Lotion, Moisturizer M and a mask.

Actually, their skin care was ok for my own point of view. Didn't give me any break-out. But, there's nothing special about their skincare set.. It didn't give my skin a smoother look or anything at all. It doesn't have a good after effect on me.

I didn't like their Moisturizer because it's too liquidy for my opinion. It takes time to let it dry. Their lotion is also ok, it's very light and very good on the face (but no after effect on my face.. :( ).

Well.. So much about Esprique Skin Care for me... I'm moving on to find my HG Skin Care set...

Enough Nars Blush For Me...

Posted by Rica at 6:36 PM 0 comments

Okay, okay... I have to admit it... I am attracted to NARS blush... Their cute colors whenever I see them over the counter makes me wanna buy them all... But whenever I go home and try it onto my face, it's just the opposite way around...

My second NARS powder blush purchase is called "Luster." I bought it over Sephora a few weeks ago and this was the first time to try it on. It's a bronzy type of powder blush unlike "Orgasm" which is peachy type. Even though it doesn't state in their website that luster is also "shimmery" but then when I put it on, it still shimmers. I really don't like the shimmery effect of the NARS powder blushes. The shimmer just gets stuck into my pores making my skin imperfections even more visible rather than concealing it.

Also, this color doesn't work for me. It makes me look like I have dirt on my face rather than having that "bronzy" summery look.

Well, I had enough of this powder blushes from NARS... I'm taking them all off of my wishlist!

Lavshuca Jewel Lips - All Pretty But NOT Good...

Posted by Rica at 12:07 PM 0 comments

I got so intrigued with the brand Lavshuca that I bought their lipstick called "Jewel Lips." I got three colors from their Jewel Lips Collection. RS-1, PK-3 & PK-4. Got these lipsticks from Watson's Personal Store here in Hong Kong for HKD 60 each.

What I love the most with these lipsticks, they are so handy and their packaging is really cute compare to the American brand lipsticks. Downside? Well, it's not pigmented enough for me. It's just like I'm putting on a lip balm instead of a lipstick. I wasn't really "awed" with their Jewel Lips Collection.

I'm sorry I can't post the real color for you guys here in my site. All three lipsticks went out last Friday morning for a MUA swap. Anyway, Here's the colors of Lavshuca's Jewel Lips for you:

I guess I have to try another lipstick from Lavshuca!

Benefit You Rebel Lite : A Burner...

Posted by Rica at 12:46 PM 0 comments

I got a sampler of this Benefit You Rebel Lite from Yahoo Auctions Hong Kong and tried it on since I'm also on search for a tinted moisturizer. I just applied it once and after that? Well.. I gave it to our helper.. WHY?! Don't get me wrong, their tinted moisturizer is ok. It's not oily, it's not sticky and didn't give me a break-out.. The problem is, it stings when it comes contact near your eyes. It fees like the skin around your eyes is burning from the moisturizer. As soon as I put it on, I took off the one near my eyes because it really hurts a lot... Well, so much for tinted moisturizers, I'll give a pass for this one... Up for the next brand!!!

MAC Moisturelush Cream

Posted by Rica at 1:07 PM 0 comments

I tried using MAC's Moisturelush Cream Moisturizer since I really "love" MAC and was curious about MAC's skin care line. It is HKD 280 for 100 mL. The smell was good, I love the smell. By the way, I have a combination of Oily / Dry skin. At some parts of my face, it's really dry. Like at the top eyelids are very dry compare to my T-zone which is very oily.

I've been using it for almost 1 month now and I have one comment for this moisturizing cream from MAC. It's too oily! YES, it's only made for very dry skin. I think if I have a very dry skin, this is a suitable moisturizing face cream for me. But since I have a combination of both, it is faster to make my face oily. I noticed the difference between using Estee Lauder's Hydra Moisturizer and this moisturizer, my foundation wears off quicker even with a primer on.

As a result, I just use pinch of it everytime (even a pinch, it's still very oily!). I've been using it for almost a month already but I just finished around... Hmmm.. Let me see... 10% of the jar? It's good because I can save up before buying a new moisturizer.. But I will never repurchase this product from MAC again...

Swapping For The First Time...

Posted by Rica at 8:54 AM 0 comments

Since I'm not really fond of my newly purchased NARS Orgasm Powder Blush, I'm willing to swap it over www.MakeUpAlley.com . A friendly member sent me a swap request last night for my NARS Orgasm Blush in exchange to her Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. Since I'm willing to let it go and that Tinted Moisturizer is in my wishlist as well, I'm giving it a try. :)

I was really intrigued at first with the NARS Orgasm Powder Blush. It was in demand everywhere.. From magazines, online forums, online blogs, etc. That's why I purchased this blush. At first I thought that the shimmery effect of the NARS blushes are "cute" but I was wrong... it just doesn't work for me. The shimmers just clogs on one area of my face, making my pores visible and making me look like I don't know how to put on make-up evenly.

I was really disappointed. Not to mention it's HKD 240 at Sephora just for a small piece of blush with a not-so-good looking packaging. The packaging is also one thing I dislike from it. The rubber-like material NARS used for it making makes the compact look old and dirty. I'm just glad that I found my NARS blush a new home, and will be shipping out anytime soon!

The next package is a 4-lot Japanese Brand make-ups in exchange to a Chanel Liquid Foundation and a YSL Lipstick. I am willing to let go my 3 Lavshuca Jewel Lipsticks and Majolica Majorca Jewellling Pencil in exchange for that. Because I can always buy a replacement to those anytime I wanted. :) I'm hoping that these swaps would turn out successful because this is my first time to try!

Boo... for Smashbox Photo Op Under Eye Brightener

Posted by Rica at 2:01 PM 0 comments

I bought this a week ago because I recently noticed that I'm already having under eye circles. Yes, I know, signs of aging... I'm getting old!! And so, I tried purchasing Smashbox Photo Op Undereye Brightener to try. This is my first time to use a brightener.

Unfortunately, it's very disappointing. It doesn't really work for me, (I am a MAC NC35) and it appears transparent into my skin. It doesn't even cover my undereye circles, and it's very liquidy with an addition to the hard-to-control brush that comes with it.

I bought it for HKD 170 here in Hong Kong and wishing that I bought a MAC Powder Blush instead. (I'm a sucker for powder blushes!)

I guess I still need to find my HG Undereye Brightener! The search must go on....

Docile Lipstick Review

Posted by Rica at 9:37 PM 0 comments

I was craving for a baby doll colored lipstick in nude and YES! I got it yesterday from my haul at Sasa Outlet. I bought it for HKD 28 only. To complete the look that I'm achieving, I also purchased a baby doll colored lip liner for HKD 5. Yes, it's only HKD 5. Both of the products are from the brand called Docile.

I know, Docile is an unknown brand and can only be purchased from Sasa, but it's ok. My first purchase from Docile was long time ago, when I was still in college, a black eyeliner and it was fine.

I tried putting it on today and it is perfect! I got the look that I wanted, and very much satisfied with the lipstick's texture. It doesn't dry your lips unlike otherlipsticks would. It's also very pigmented, just one swipe and the color is already visible on your lips. But I have one minor thing that I dislike from this product. It is not a long-wear lipstick, so every now and then, I have to retouch my lipstickeven though I'm already wearing a lip primer. But overall, With a lipstick that costs only HKD 28, the quality is acceptable and good and best of all, I do like it.

Here's the color of my lipstick for your reference. BTW, I'm NW35 with MAC Cosmetics. Fair / Medium Skin Complexion.

Giving a Boo-Hoo For Majolica Majorca

Posted by Rica at 12:56 PM 0 comments

Two weeks ago, I bought this cute brow customize powder from Majolica Majorca. Since I don't know how to groom my very, very thin eyebrows, I thought that this is the perfect product for me. It's in powdered form, with a tip-like sponge. It's very easy to apply, you just have to draw a line for making your eyebrows, unlike the others, you still have to do a lot of stuffs before getting that "perfect" look.

Yes, I did bought it. I bought it over Watson's Personal Store for around HKD 55. And take note... You can customize it the way you wanted it to look like. But you have to buy them separately. For example, I chose the brow powder, and since I wanted it to be "pencil-like," I also purchased the brush that was sold separately, around HKD 55 each. So, the total all in all was around HKD 100+ to get that "brow-pencil" look from this line from Majolica Majorca.

I was in fact excited to use it for the first time because I'm an avid fan of Majolica Majorca. I love their mascaras, amazed by how full, long and thick my lashes can be after using them. So I thought this would be the same since it's also from Majolica Majorca. But actually, I was disappointed after using this product. The color of the brow is fine. It's actually a dark brown shade, so it's in the middle of black and brown. Not looking too black to be labeled as "unnatural" and not to light as well.

Downside of this product? Well, I don't know if it was me or the product, but one thing is for sure, the pencil is so hard to control and I need to swipe around 20x just to get my brows looking thick and full. Also, it doesn't last long. I used it I think, twice, and within that two times that I used it, I observed that at the middle of the day, I already need to retouch my brows because it's turning very light! What a disappointment!

I was really disappointed with this product from Majolica Majorca... Since my Mom has the same brows as mine (I inherited my brows from her...), I gave her this product... Oh well.. I guess I'm still in search for my perfect brow liner....
